Psychologist – Qatar – Awsaj Institute

2. Job Purpose:

To assist with the psychological evaluations of the candidates for admission to the school and for re-evaluations as needed for attending students.  To use the data collected to develop the Alternative Education Plan.

To assess and evaluate students for intervention.

Helping in developing and following behaviour plans to specific students.

4. Key Result Areas:

Key RESULT AREAS
  • Evaluates students who have been referred to TLC or to TLCS
  • Develops a psychological educational evaluation report with appropriate recommendations for staff, parents and student ( when needed )
  • Works with family and teaching staff to design appropriate education plan for admitted students
  • Plans and implements appropriate testing procedures for providing appropriate interventions.
  • Provides appropriate instructional/therapeutic methods for developing the students learning styles building on strengths and developing areas of weakness
  • Conducts in-service education sessions for teachers and support staff and provides consultation as needed
  • Confers with the Head of Clinical on referral, screening, evaluations and any unusual circumstances arising from referrals or active student cases.
  • Participates as a team member with other specialists when requested or needed
  • Confers with other schools, providing information on the service of the TLC programs.
  • Actively contributes to the development of programs for children with special needs in Qatar(i.e. consultation, presentations)
  • Assists in End of Year data collection regarding annual school-wide assessments
  • Assists with developing and/or implementing behavior intervention programs
  • Performs other related duties, as required.
  • Has an experience in response to intervention model.
  • Assists in the implementation of school-wide behaviour programs.

Academic school calendar, daily Schedule 6:45 – 3:15, opportunities to attend conferences outside of Qatar

  •  Evaluates, compares and relates information across educational settings
    • Identifies broader implications of proposed solutions across the organisation
    • Employs own experience and evidence (research-based) from theory, other industries and technologies to identify problems and understand situations
    • Reviews existing policy to enable effective problem solving and judgment by the team

8. Decision Making Authority & Responsibility:

This job works within broad procedures and practices that have clear precedents with operational guidance being readily available if needed. It is subject to managerial control and review of results upon completion.

9. Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

English language proficiency .

Current and continuing certification as a School/Educational Psychologist

Technology proficiency in order to complete the necessary tasks involved (i.e. scoring programs, Word and Excel)

Knowledge of the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of children and basic understanding of the fundamental methods, techniques, and procedures involved in a school environment

Head of Library &Technology- Qatar – Awsaj Institute

2. Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the operations, development and maintenance of Awsaj Institute of Education Library   and Technology to ensure that all materials are available to assist in teaching the curriculum and for the general education of the students.

3. Job Dimensions:

Key RESULT AREAS
LIBRARY AND TECHNOLOGY

  1. Develop, Plan, Implement and Maintain a 3 Year Library and Technology Strategic Plan
  2. Develop Plan and Implement a yearly plan and budget for the Library and Technology
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the efficient and effective operations of the Library and Technology at Awsaj Institute of Learning
  4. Follow trends and advancements in libraries and in technology 
  5. Determine the appropriate materials and technology equipment for Awsaj Institute of Education that will be used as tools to enhance the students learning.
  6. Work with Finance to make decisions related to buying materials from publishers, wholesalers, and distributors
  7. Evaluate Library and Technology staff and recommend reward based on their performance
  8. Any other duties as requested by supervisor

 

 

LIBRARY

  1. Plan, organize and administer training for Library staff to ensure they perform their duties
  2. Create, Review and Approve all campus Library book orders to ensure that they meet the objectives of Awsaj Institute of Education.
  3. Receives library and technology materials and verifies receipt against online and printed record
  4. Conduct classes, publicize services, offer Library and research help, with writing grants, and managing other administrative issues
  5. Provide building wide leadership in the area of research and materials acquisitions
  6. Assist staff in locating Library materials to support curricular needs
  7. Organize materials into the various subject matters and provide descriptions of the materials so that can be easily located.
  8. Compiling lists of books, books, periodicals, articles, and audio-visual materials on particular subjects;
  9. Analyse the Library collections and recommending materials to staff

10. Create and maintain relationships with school, college and private libraries

 

 

TECHNOLOGY

  1. Coordinate with faculty members to utilize technologies as an aid in teaching their curriculum for the enhancement for student learning
  2. Be knowledgeable of a vast array of scholarly and public information resources
  3. Provide building wide leadership in the area of research and materials acquisitions
  4. Acquire, develop and design information programs and systems that will be used by the staff/students
  5. Assist staff in locating technology including software and hardware materials
  6. Determine staff/student needs and provide assistance in the search for and acquisition of materials
  7. Deliver instruction to staff/students on research and technology
  8. Work with Finance to negotiation contracts for services, materials, and equipment,
  9. Conduct classes, publicize services, offer technical help, with writing grants, and managing other administrative issues

10. Create and maintain operational and collegial relationships with Qatar Foundation Information Technology Services

11. Create and maintain operational and strategic relationships with other technology organizations in the area

  • Supervision of Elementary Librarian

This job is free to determine how to achieve clearly defined annual departmental objectives through directing others. It is covered by functional policies (as distinct from procedures) and precedents. It is subject to executive management review and direction 

9. Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Master Degree in Library Science (MLS) or Equivalent
  • K-12 Library Certification/Credential
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Librarian and Technology Coordinator
  • Understand how to utilize all types of resources in the search for desired materials.
  • Knowledge of Educational Systems and Environments
  • Knowledge of Technology Systems – Windows XP/7, Microsoft Office, Macintosh OS X Office for Mac
  • Knowledge of Technology Specifically Per Christopher Bell – Macintosh Computer Management and Programmer, Wireless and Wired Network, Destiny Library Program Administrator, PowerSchool Administrator, Crystal Reports Administrator (Report Card Printing),  Moodle Administrator, Website Administrator, MAP Testing Technical Administrator, Specialty AV Equipment throughout AIE Operator, Computer Lab Operator, Individual Printer Operator
