The Department of Specialized Education Services, School of Education, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro announces the availability of a tenured or tenure-track position in Special Education with an emphasis in emotional and behavior disorders at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Qualifications include (1) an earned doctorate in special education or appropriate field. ABD with a graduation date no later than August 1, 2009 is acceptable; (2) at least three years of teaching experience with students with disabilities in K-12 environments; (3) established or emerging record of scholarly productivity appropriate for a doctoral institution ; and (4) commitment to field-based, urban undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation premised on collaboration and multiculturalism in face to face and online formats. The Division of Teacher Education invites applications for a faculty position at the University of Cincinnati, College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. This tenure track position is in Special Education beginning September 2009.

Responsibilities include : teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the Special Education Program; conducting research, writing grants, and publishing; collaborating with local schools; advising graduate and undergraduate students; participating in the program governance; and engaging in division, college, university, and community service. Opportunities exist for funded summer research and/or summer school teaching, involvement in collaborative efforts across the University and professional practice/development schools, and access to culturally diverse populations in city and area schools.

Min. Quals .: Earned doctorate with a specialization in special education or equivalent by August 31, 2009; however, current ABD candidates will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates that show evidence of scholarship, a record of research, and scholarly publications, an ability to secure funded research; and experience working with public schools. Candidates who have experience working with minority populations in public schools are especially encouraged to apply. Salary is competitive and dependent upon preparation and experience.

The Dean reports directly to the Provost and has a central role in the University’s academic administration. Through the Council of Deans, the Dean actively contributes to decisions affecting the University at large as well as the College of Education. The Dean is involved centrally in issues including strategic planning, budget, curriculum, facilities, and research. The new Dean will provide vision and leadership to help guide this strong college toward increased national prominence and service to Missouri.
MU, part of the four-campus University of Missouri System, is one of the most comprehensive universities in the United States. The College of Education provides a rich and rewarding learning environment for students.
