POSITION AVAILABLE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION

Assistant/Associate Professor, Tenure Track position

The Department of Special Education and Literacy in the School of Education at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University invites applications for full time, tenure track position in the area of Special Education. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position filled. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experiences

Qualifications: Candidates should hold an earned Doctorate in Special Education. A background in special education teaching is preferred as is experience teaching in a Doctoral Program.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses in special education; work in partnership with local school districts; use technology effectively in teaching and learning; maintain an active research agenda with publications. Expertise in inclusion, the instruction of students with mild disabilities and/or autism is essential.

General Information: C.W. Post is located 40 minutes from New York City on the North Shore of Long Island and is surrounded by world-class beaches, parks, excellent schools, recreation, shopping, and sports facilities. The campus encompasses 307 acres of red brick academic buildings, stately mansions, modern recreational facilities, and rolling green lawns. The B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library is one of the largest in the Northeast with 2.7 million volumes.
