ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Reading/Language Arts, Elementary Education,
Special Education (Three Tenure-Earning Positions)
The Department of Childhood Education, Reading and Disability Services in the College of Education and the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University invite applications for three tenure-earning positions at the Assistant Professor level to start in Fall 2007. The positions will involve teaching, research and service within one of three program areas (Reading/Language Arts, Elementary Education or Special Education), and they will be made jointly with the Florida Center for Reading Research. All three positions carry a reduced teaching assignment with correspondingly high expectations for research. Applicants with expertise and research interests in the development of early literacy or adolescent literacy are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications include: Candidates for this position should demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and they should also demonstrate a strong potential for developing a funded independent research program. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in education with teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level desirable.
